====== Random bits & bobs ====== Little mods and things with nowhere else to go. ===== Ammo tin jack box ===== These little ammo tins used to be available for under a fiver, you can still find the odd one if you look. They have a seal round the lid and are the perfect size for a Mercedes Sprinter telescopic jack which is ideal for reaching the portals. Also the waterproofing comes in handy... {{ https://fuddymuckers.co.uk/gallery/s/800/2024_02_25_Broxhead/2024-02-25_16-02-10.jpg }} ===== LT230 Oil Catcher ===== Early LT230 transfer transfer boxes don't have a cross-drilled input gear, that leads to the input splines wearing and eventually failing. Cross-drilled gears aren't available for the 1.003:1 ratio cases so FTC4993 is an oil catcher plate that channels oil down into the end of the input gear - it's easily fitted through the PTO hole with the box in situ. FTC4994 is an O-Ring needed for fitting. ===== Quick roll cage CB mount ===== The stage rigging industry uses bar clamps to hold all sorts of stuff overhead, lighting clamps are cheap, available in many styles, and nice and strong! {{https://fuddymuckers.co.uk/gallery/s/500/eddie_18/2022-01-28_12-10-20.jpg}} This is quick and easy to loosen off and stand the aerial up when it's needed. ===== Exhaust Studs ===== For Rover V8 you can buy ones for classic Minis - they're 3/8" UNC thread into the head, then 3/8" UNF (fine) thread for the brass nuts. This means you're not screwing bolts in & out of the head when working on things. You *may* need to cut the heads down for clearance getting the manifold out over the studs, and you *may* need thick washers under the nuts to fully clamp the manifold properly. {{https://fuddymuckers.co.uk/gallery/s/500/v8_heads/IMG_9277.JPG}}
