====== Paint, Rustproofing, etc. ====== ===== Rustproofing ===== === Dinitrol === I use Dinitrol as it seems to work well and is easy to apply. The major bugbear with Dinitrol is their numbering & descriptions are really confusing and they seem incapable of putting a simple table of products & applications on their website. Anyway, the TL;DR is: ^ For cavities | Use Dinitrol ML then 3125 | ^ For chassis | Use 4941 | === Electroplating / Electrical rust removal === I've used these methods and they work very nicely, Geoffrey Croker on Youtube has one of the best videos explaining it: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-PtnwtOR24|Electroplating - Easy DIY Nickel, Copper, Zinc Plating]]. He's also restored a Series Land Rover so is clearly a Good Sort. === Waxoyl === Is a pain in the arse, and frankly any paint or coating that people tell you you should really re-apply every year sounds utterly ridiculous in the modern world. However, it did give us one of the most entertaining threads of all time: [[https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/17140-scampi-waxoyled-cats-the-pulley/|Scampi, Waxoyled Cats, and The Pulley]]. === Buzzweld === They talk a good game but having used their products a few times I've been pretty disappointed, having spent a lot of time stripping, cleaning, priming & painting the bullbars on the ambulance to have them look like this a year later and maybe only a few thousand miles of driving: {{ https://fuddymuckers.co.uk/gallery/s/500/alfie_bullbars/20230531_171558.jpg }}
