Paint colour
The colour scheme was inspired by a British Railways 109 I saw on the London To Brighton run, it's known in trainspotting circles as “Blood and Custard”:
It looks like the paint codes are:
- Blood: RAL3005 - Paintman link
- Railway websites suggest BS381c No. 540
- Custard: RAL20187 - British Leyland (BLMC) Limestone LRC007 - Paintman link
- “The Cream had a British Railways paint code but does not appear to have had a British Standard colour reference.”
Clutch
- FTC5202 LOF slave cylinder (a great upgrade)
- FTC5200 Alloy release bearing (a worthwhile upgrade until you fill the bellhousing with muddy water!)
Steering rod ends
From EMF Rod Ends (Canada) - Heim Joint, Small, 3/4-16 Thread RH Thread / Ball 1.625 x 3/4
Sleeved ends are M12 fine bolts.
Drop arm bolt is 3/4“ UNF x 5”.
